Just another day at the Port Bay Club

Issue: 1 April, 2009

The weather was typical for February, but everyone ‘hunkered down’ and took advantage of the great fishing. The fish were biting just ahead of a weather front that pushed the temperatures down to freezing on Sunday morning.

A few ATS employees and customers enjoyed a great weekend of fishing and merriment. The group above comprised of Brian K (Oilstates), Jeremy (guide) and Dwayne K (ATS) took the mini-tournament this weekend. The other group was comprised of Roy B (FMC), Allen (guide), Juan C (ATS) and Scooter C (ATS). As everyone sat around a warm fire and relaxed on Friday night, a scoring system was developed to encourage a friendly competition. The scores were weighted dependent upon the difficulty to catch the particular fish during this part of the season. A Black Drum was worth 1 point, a Redfish was worth 5 points, a Speckled Trout was worth 10 points and a Flounder was worth 15 points. Jeremy got the guys on several Redfish to dominate the scoring. Allen made sure his guys caught more than their fare share of the Black Drum. The totals: Boat Jeremy = 55 points and Boat Allen = 25 points.
